When it was noon, darkness came over the whole land*
until three in the afternoon. 34At three o’clock Jesus
cried out with a loud voice, ‘Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?’
which means, ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken
me?’* 35When some of the bystanders heard it, they
said, ‘Listen, he is calling for Elijah.’ 36And someone
ran, filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on a stick,
and gave it to him to drink, saying, ‘Wait, let us
see whether Elijah will come to take him down.’ 37Then
Jesus gave a loud cry and breathed his last. 38And the
curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom.
39Now when the centurion, who stood facing him, saw
that in this way he* breathed his last, he said, ‘Truly
this man was God’s Son!’*

There were also women looking on from a distance; among
them were Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James
the younger and of Joses, and Salome. 41These used to
follow him and provided for him when he was in Galilee;
and there were many other women who had come up with
him to Jerusalem.
33.从午正到申初遍地都黑暗了。
34.申初的时候，耶稣大声喊着说，以罗伊，以罗伊，拉马撒巴各大尼。翻出来，就是，我的神，我的神，为什么离弃我。 35.旁边站着的人，有的听见就说，看哪，他叫以利亚呢。 36.有一个人跑去，把海绒蘸满了醋，绑在苇子上，送给他喝，说，且等着，看以利亚来不来把他取下。 37.耶稣大声喊叫，气就断了。
38.殿里的幔子，从上到下裂为两半。
39.对面站着的百夫长，看见耶稣这样喊叫断气，（有古卷无喊叫二字）就说，这人真是神的儿子。 40.还有些妇女，远远的观看。内中有抹大拉的马利亚，又有小雅各和约西的母亲马利亚，并有撒罗米。
41.就是耶稣在加利利的时候，跟随他，服事他的那些人，还有同耶稣上耶路撒冷的好些妇女在那里观看。 |

47When some of the bystanders heard it, they said, ‘This
man is calling for Elijah.’ 48At once one of them ran
and got a sponge, filled it with sour wine, put it on
a stick, and gave it to him to drink. 49But the others
said, ‘Wait, let us see whether Elijah will come to
save him.’* 50Then Jesus cried again with a loud voice
and breathed his last.* 51At that moment the curtain
of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The
earth shook, and the rocks were split. 52The tombs also
were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen
asleep were raised. 53After his resurrection they came
out of the tombs and entered the holy city and appeared
to many. 54Now when the centurion and those with him,
who were keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake
and what took place, they were terrified and said, ‘Truly
this man was God’s Son!’*

Many women were also there, looking on from a distance;
they had followed Jesus from Galilee and had provided
for him. 56Among them were Mary Magdalene, and Mary
the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the
sons of Zebedee.

46.约在申初，耶稣大声喊着说，以利，以利，拉马撒巴各大尼。就是说，我的神，我的神，为什么离弃我。

51.忽然殿里的幔子，从上到下裂为两半。地也震动。盘石也崩裂。 52.坟墓也开了。已睡圣徒的身体，多有起来的。
53.到耶稣复活以后，他们从坟墓里出来，进了圣城，向许多人显现。
54.百夫长和一同看守耶稣的人，看见地震，并所经历的事，就极其害怕，说，这真是神的儿子了。
55.有好些妇女在那里远远的观看。他们是从加利利跟随耶稣来服事他的。
56.内中有抹大拉的马利亚，又有雅各和约西的母亲马利亚，并有西庇太两个儿子的母亲。 |

It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole
land* until three in the afternoon, 45while the sun’s
light failed;* and the curtain of the temple was torn
in two. 46Then Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said,
‘Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.’ Having
said this, he breathed his last. 47When the centurion
saw what had taken place, he praised God and said, ‘Certainly
this man was innocent.’* 48And when all the crowds
who had gathered there for this spectacle saw what had
taken place, they returned home, beating their breasts.
49But all his acquaintances, including the women who
had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance,
watching these things.
44.那时约有午正，遍地都黑暗了，直到申初，
45.日头变黑了。殿里的幔子从当中裂为两半。
46.耶稣大声喊着说，父阿，我将我的灵魂交在你手里。说了这话，气就断了。
47.百夫长看见所成的事，就归荣耀与神说，这真是个义人。 48.聚集观看的众人，见了这所成的事，都捶着胸回去了。
49.还有一切与耶稣熟识的人，和从加利利跟着他来的妇女们，都远远的站着，看着这些事。

23When the soldiers had crucified
Jesus, they took his clothes and divided them into four
parts, one for each soldier. They also took his tunic;
now the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from
the top. 24So they said to one another, ‘Let us not
tear it, but cast lots for it to see who will get it.’
This was to fulfil what the scripture says, ‘They divided
my clothes among themselves, and for
my clothing they cast lots.’ 25And that is what the
soldiers did.
Meanwhile, standing near the cross
of Jesus were his mother, and his mother’s sister,
Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26When
Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved
standing beside her, he said to his mother, ‘Woman,
here is your son.’ 27Then he said to the disciple,
‘Here is your mother.’ And from that hour the disciple
took her into his own home.

After this, when Jesus knew that all was now finished,
he said (in order to fulfil the scripture), ‘I am thirsty.’
29A jar full of sour wine was standing there. So they
put a sponge full of the wine on a branch of hyssop
and held it to his mouth. 30When Jesus had received
the wine, he said, ‘It is finished.’ Then he bowed
his head and gave up his spirit.
31 Since it was
the day of Preparation, the Jews did not want the bodies
left on the cross during the sabbath, especially because
that sabbath was a day of great solemnity. So they asked
Pilate to have the legs of the crucified men broken
and the bodies removed. 32Then the soldiers came and
broke the legs of the first and of the other who had
been crucified with him. 33But when they came to Jesus
and saw that he was already dead, they did not break
his legs. 34Instead, one of the soldiers pierced his
side with a spear, and at once blood and water came
out. 35(He who saw this has testified so that you also
may believe. His testimony is true, and he knows* that
he tells the truth.) 36These things occurred so that
the scripture might be fulfilled, ‘None of his bones
shall be broken.’ 37And again another passage of scripture
says, ‘They will look on the one whom they have pierced.’
23 兵丁既然將耶穌釘在十字架上、就拿他的衣服分為四分、每兵一分．又拿他的裡衣．這件裡衣、原來沒有縫兒、是上下一片織成的。
24 他們就彼此說、我們不要撕開、只要拈鬮、看誰得著．這要應驗經上的話說、『他們分了我的外衣、為我的裡衣拈鬮。』兵丁果然作了這事。25 站在耶穌十字架旁邊的、有他母親、與他母親的姊妹、並革羅罷的妻子馬利亞、和抹大拉的馬利亞。
26 耶穌見母親和他所愛的那門徒站在旁邊、就對他母親說、母親、〔原文作婦人〕看你的兒子。
27 又對那門徒說、看你的母親。從此那門徒就接他到自己家裡去了。
28 這事以後、耶穌知道各樣的事已經成了、為要使經上的話應驗、就說、我渴了。
29有一個器皿盛滿了醋、放在那裡．他們就拿海絨蘸滿了醋、綁在牛膝草上、送到他口。
30 耶 穌嘗〔原文作受〕了那醋、就說、成了．便低下頭、將靈魂交付 神了。
31 猶太人因這日是豫備日、又因那安息日是個大日、就求彼拉多叫人打斷他們的腿、把他們拿去、免得屍首當安息日留在十字架上。
32 於是兵丁來了、把頭一個人的腿、並與耶穌同釘第二個人的腿、都打斷了。
33 只是來到耶穌那裡、見他已經死了、就不打斷他的腿。34 惟有一個兵拿槍扎他的肋旁、隨即有血和水流出來。
35 看見這事的那人就作見證、他的見證也是真的、並且他知道自己所說的是真的、叫你們也可以信。
36 這些事成了、為要應驗經上的話說、『他的骨頭、一根也不折斷。』
37 經上又有一句說、『他們要仰望自己所扎的人。』
